Rizal Shrine, Calamba

The Rizal family home in Calamba, Laguna is the birthplace of José Rizal. Originally demolished by Spanish authorities in 1890 after the family was evicted from their land lease, the house was later faithfully reconstructed and now stands as a national shrine. It holds original family furniture, personal artifacts, and a replica of the room where Rizal was born.

The Rizal family home was torn down by Spanish authorities after the family was forcibly evicted due to a dispute with Dominican friars over their land lease.
